Pond Exploration

What a beautiful afternoon we had yesterday for a little exploring! The boys and I spent some time exploring at a local park that had a pond complete with a bird watching hut.

It doesn't get much sweeter for five and seven year old boys! :)

They explored to their heart's content, finding tadpoles, caterpillars, dragonflies, and birds.

And, of course, there was lots of digging in the mud with sticks.

The little hut had a lookout window with a place to sit. So the boys spread out their nature journals and did some drawing and listing of what they saw.

I just love taking pictures of my little guys exploring their world  . . .

and all the critters they find! :)

Garrett wanted me to take a picture of these leaves reflecting in the water . . .

The observation hut was their favorite thing in the park, though! What a great place to climb around!

We will most definitely be visiting this park often in the coming weeks as the leaves change their colors and the air turns brisk. I hadn't realized this tranquil pond and park was so close by.

Can't wait to return in the winter months with the boys to see all the changes. Such fun!

We ended our field trip at the nearby playground! (Always a great finish to an outing.)  Such special times with my guys! The time we have with our little ones flies by way to quickly, doesn't it?!!!

Living Outdoors

So, here are pictures from our camping trip a few weeks ago, in random order. I could take the painstaking time to organize them in chronological order complete with captions; however, I think you'll capture the essence of our trip leaving the photos as is! :) I gotta lot to do today! Enjoy!
